Who cares about toilets? In Health Care Facilities.
Public health depends on toilets. Unless everybody in a community has a safe toilet, everybody’s health is threatened. Toilets also enable quality health care. The presence of safe, clean, accessible and acceptable toilets in health facilities is a non-negotiable basic requirement. Proper toilets in health facilities protect dignity, prevent infections in patients, staff and visitors, and ensure quality care. In this video, Enisa takes you on a journey through her work on toilets in health care facilities in Montenegro – work that the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health has been supporting.
