November 19th, 2017 marks the 16th World Toilet Day, as well as an annual opportunity to focus attention on the importance of proper sanitation and advocating for the access to clean and safe toilets for all.
Access to water and sanitation is a basic human right. While under the pressure of growing population and urbanization, a large part of the population in developing countries lack access to proper sanitation and clean water. Policy makers as well as general public have not yet fully understand the importance of improving sanitation solutions. Governments have a hard time regulating water supply & sanitation, while most sanitation facilities are often designed without any consultation with the very people who would use them.
Green Initiatives is partnering with the We Are Water Foundation and Upbeing, to conduct a series of activities on 16th October to support the World Toilet Day.
