Agricultural water use in Mexico corresponds to approximately 70% of water consumption, unfortunately with very low efficiencies. It is therefore of great interest to finds different ways to achieve greater agri-water productivity.
The Sustainable Agri-water Initiative in Mexico brings together industries, sectoral and professional associations, universities, non-governmental associations and private citizens to collaborate with the government to pursue water security and sustainable water resources management. Areas of strategic interest for the initiative are water re-use and recycling, among others.
