This e-book explores successful cases for regulating wastewater management in the six following countries: Argentina, Australia, Finland, Jordan, Singapore and South Africa.

The new 2030 Agenda (i.e. Sustainable Development Goal 6.3 Water quality and wastewater) underlines that wastewater management is one of the biggest challenges to better protect human and ecosystem health. Although in most countries, wastewater management has lower priority than water provision, there is an urgent need to promote effective wastewater treatment and disposal, and to encourage the protection of aquatic receiving ecosystems.

Learn more in the UNEP and WaterLex joint publication “Good Practices for Regulating Wastewater Treatment: Legislation, Policies and Standards”, featuring the work of these six countries in successful regulation of wastewater management.
