Fearing for their daughters’ safety, this Cambodian couple found a solution that empowered them and changed not only their lives, but that of their daughters’ as well. Living in a rural Cambodian village, Mong and her husband, Rim, with the help of a small loan from WaterCredit, were able to purchase the necessary materials to build a bathroom and rain catchment system at home. Access to a toilet and clean drinking water has liberated the couple, who are no longer in constant concern for their children’s’ safety from the risk of unwanted attacks at night due to a water system and a private toilet, that they themselves have built.
