UN-Habitat, in collaboration with Radio Pakistan, will be conducting an Urdu Radio Talk on World Toilet Day 2016 through Radio Pakistan’s morning show “Raabta”. The show reaches out to the masses of Pakistan and is widely popular among the public. Listeners call live to ask the guests about the topic under consideration which in this case is the theme of the World Toilet Day 2016 i.e. Toilet and Jobs.
Radio is an effective tool for advocating social issues and creating awareness at a large scale in Pakistan as it reaches out to an extensive audience. UN-Habitat has participated in radio talks through “Raabta” in the past as well and has garnered great support from the masses with people from all over Pakistan calling in to ask the guests about various social issues such as water, sanitation, and hygiene, and also menstruation matters.
