Helping Hands

Throughout the month of November I am giving a series of talks to the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts of the 4th St Albans Scout group, to explain that other children in the world are not able to access a clean and safe toilet and how this affects their schooling, their health, their life. The children are drawing around their hands and adding a chore per finger. Each hand is worth £2.50 and the aim is to raise enough money to twin as many toilets as possible with the new disabled toilet being built in the Scout Hut by the end of the month. Twinning means that any money raised can pay for a toilet for a village or a school to be built and hygiene education given, in the countries that www.toilettwinning.org.uk operates. This new toilet will be “twinned” with your own toilet.
The amazing enthusiasm they have shown so far means we have great hopes!
