Did you know that more people have access to a cellphone than a toilet? We did, and that’s why we want you to help spread awareness about World Toilet Day. #FlushForward is our education campaign with toilet selfies. We need you to tag @herartsinaction #FlushForward on Facebook and Twitter with your toilet photo to help spread the urgency of access to sanitation around the globe. #FlushForward is a play on fast forward, as in, fast forward to once girls have access to toilets and education and see what happens.
World Toilet Day is November 19th, and we want to change these statistics:
Globally, a child dies every 20 seconds because of poor sanitation.
Girls who are fortunate enough to attend school miss classes when they are menstruating.
Women and girls practicing open defecation often only find relief under the privacy of darkness and face rape and assault.
Take a photo of yourself with a toilet.
Upload the photo to @herartsinaction on Facebook &/or Twitter with #FlushForward.
We’ll reply with toilet statistics & fundraising links to spread awareness.
BONUS: Photos with most interactions win art memorabilia!
